Edusat communication network is a novel method in informal science education with the help of the satellite named Edusat. The field centre is established in the museum exploratarium with the assistance of Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.  The two way audio-video communication network associated with Development and Education communication  (DECU) of ISRO mainly serves in science popularization in addition to disaster management.

The students sitting at the ‘Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT) of  the museum can interact with subject experts and professors at the Vigyan Prasar studio through the multicast. Thus it can be termed as a country wide interactive class room. Neighbouring  school authorities can utilize this unique facility for their science club members.
